Big Hair Bettyy Inspiration

So I think I am going to cut my hair in about two weeks... I am nervous and excited about what I am going to look like! When I cut my hair, I will officially be natural, yay! I can't wait to rock my curls. Eventually, I want my hair to grow out to be big. A Big Hair Bettyy is when you have natural hair with a lot of volume  going on. I've gathered some pictures that totally embody one.

She has a cool style to match her hair!

I like this combed out "afro"

Awesome faux Mohawk going on here!

I would like to know how she got this chunky hair look, it looks cool

Sheer Is The New Clear

                                                         Sheer Is Here

Sheer is back and I love that this trend is a must have this summer! I feel that the sheer inspired see through cuts and clocking promote a sexy yet fun and classy look. It shows enough skin but doesn't cross the over the top exposing look. Lots of designers have been creating their own renditions of the sheer look. I just recently bought a 50's inspired a -line skirt with sheer panels from my local J.Crew. This look doesn't have to be expensive. It is a definite wardrobe must have.

Summer Workout Inspiration/Plan

I've decided I wanted to start working out on a continuous basis starting this summer. I've already completed my first week so far and I think it went great! I created a little plan for myself that caters to my own personal pace level that I am at for the moment. Here is a brief look:
4 Day Workout

Day1- Legs
Day2- Arm
Day3- Core
Day4- Full Body

Of course I have a more detailed list of exactly what I am doing everyday, but each workout session last about 30 mins to an hour. For days two, three, and four, I use videos on YT so I am not doing just a bunch of random stuff. The only equipment I use are some 5 pound weights, a jump rope, and an exercise ball. Anyways, I've found some inspiration on Pinterest that I thought I would share with you guys!

Runway Ready: Hair and Makeup

I love anything that has to do with hair and makeup even though I am not so good at doing my own hair and think I do a pretty decent at doing makeup, lol! One place you can definitely see some extreme/fun makeup AND hair is on the runway.

HAIR
Glitter hair= Amazing!

Cute baby doll look

Love the waves

Cool interpretation of a bee hive

I love how the makeup interacts with the hair

Don't like the makeup so much with this blue pin-curled cap
MAKEUP
The gold eyebrows contrast great with her blue eyes!

Covering up the eyebrows makes for a really cool effect
I don't know what is going on here, but I like it!

The Perfect Swimsuit- Retro Inspiration

Retro Inspiration: Part I

Since summer has approached us I have been finding myself looking for the perfect swimsuit for my upcoming trips to the beach. I look around and browse stores in hopes of finding that "WOW" suit but have failed to find the perfect one thus far. I ask myself why is that? I've come to the realization that the idea of beauty and body perfection is such a prominent characteristic in our society that women dread bathing suit shopping. This being said I wanted to research past styles and see what was primarily different. I stumbled across the beautiful pictures from the 1940's- 1960's and I fell in love with what I found. These women were beautiful because they felt beautiful. They wore classic, bright, body flattering, swimsuits that gave them confidence and a sense of body confidence that all women need. So with these outstanding designs I have found my inspiration for how and what I want to feel when I step out onto the beach. Retro inspired bathing suits are my new obsession this week and I can't wait to discover what else the world of retro fashion has to offer.
